Working as part of an integrated team, the Outreach worker is tasked with leading the coordination and execution of outreach & recruitment aimed at (1) engaging youth to participate in CEE career training programs;

Key Responsibilities

Outreach Activities:

● Work on developing and supporting the execution of an outreach plan and activities to engage youth to participate in CEE career training programs

● Support in ensuring the program is accessible to youth who may face multiple barriers to participation (such as financial hardship, conflict with the law, being a young parent, etc)

● Support in the developing marketing material to promote programs online and in the Greater Toronto Area – this may include contracting graphic designers, videographers, content creators, printers etc.

● Support with conducting community canvassing to market the CEE program directly to youth and agencies/businesses that serve youth including flyer distribution, social media promotions, gaining referrals from community partners, and community presentations

● Support with coordinating the screening and interview in collaboration with Program Admin, Social Worker, Program Coordinator, and program partners to select cohort members

● Other tasks as assigned by the CEE Executive and Management team.

Qualifications

● Proven ability to support, serve, mentor, and train Black youth facing barriers

● Proven ability to develop and deliver skills training and workshop for youth and sector professionals

● Ability to produce work-plans, budgets, project evaluations, and reports

● Experience in conducting marketing and recruitment activities in social services

● Proven ability to build a professional network and partnerships to deliver programming

● Competent in Microsoft Office suite and related software

● Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

● Bondable and able to produce a vulnerable sector screening

● Knowledge/ experience of working within an anti-oppression and anti-racist framework

● Asset: Experience in delivering employment counseling or job readiness programming

● Asset: Experience in grant writing

● Asset: Training around working with participants with mental health or substance abuse issues

Department: Programs

Wage: $17.20/hour

Reports to: Associate Director of Programs

Duration and Hours: 8 Weeks (35 hours per week)

Start Date: June 2025
