Job Description

The IT and Security Project Delivery Administrative Department is a strategic pillar in one of Canada’s largest project offices. Reporting to the Vice-President, Enterprise Architecture and Project Management Office, you play a crucial role in advancing project management for the Desjardins Technology Group and the Desjardins Group Security Office. As Director, IT and Security Project Delivery (Project Management Office), you oversee the project delivery office for technological and security projects. Your mission is to ensure optimal performance and execution of the programs and projects under your supervision. You work closely with portfolio, business sector and IT managers to achieve strategic objectives and maximize the benefits expected from delivering projects and programs under your responsibility. Your leadership inspires your managers and their teams, including 200 project management professionals (project manager, program manager, project control officer and business analyst). Together, you guide your teams toward excellence to reach the Project Management Office’s performance objectives. More specifically, you will be required to:

Implement management and communication practices that facilitate change management, talent attraction and retention, skills development, employee engagement and diversity, in keeping with Desjardins’s values
Manage individual and team performance in support of your administrative unit’s business plan
Support organizational leaders in the adoption of the project management culture by providing meaningful, benevolent and inspiring guidance
Support strategic initiatives and organizational transformations as well as those of the division, by aligning project management practices with the organization’s priorities and portfolios
Lead change to guide teams toward the adoption of new practices, and inspire a project management culture that’s proactive and innovative
Diligently manage and monitor the execution performance of assigned project portfolios, based on conditions for success, performance indicators and project compliance with established standards
Provide regular reports to management while promoting synergy within Desjardins Group
Understand results and communicate about performance according to governance, report on progress and issues, and make recommendations to ensure decision-making
Develop partnerships and synergies with business sector and IT leaders, play an active part in the sector’s reality to stay on top of delivery issues, and ensure smooth, seamless management of programs and projects
Maintain a 360° view of the capacity required to execute programs and projects in your portfolios to ensure optimal, well-coordinated delivery of portfolio initiatives
Maintain ongoing dialogue with leaders to speed up decision-making

What you bring to the table

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
A minimum of ten years of relevant experience including six years in management
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Experience managing projects and programs in major transformation initiatives involving technology for complex, large-scale organizations
Experience in transformational leadership and change management, and capacity to drive significant changes and inspire partners and teams
Experience working in matrix model and influential roles, which are essential for navigating complex, collaborative environments
Knowledge of French is required
Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
